Storms Aren’t ‘Tropical’ When They’re Freezing Cold
Storms, Rain, Floods, Storms. November has had a lot to answer for when it comes to bad weather. The met offices and police forces of the Western European isles are constantly issuing alerts and flood warnings, even if they don’t always hit as harshly as they have been doing. Ireland has had a succession of flood risk warnings. In the first weekend they were mainly coastal, and the mid-Novemeber bout meant a flooded M50 and an aquatic spin on the traditional Dublin. Meanwhile, the South East of England wasn’t looking too hot either.
The successive and aggressive storms of early November are almost certainly weighing your mind at the moment, so perhaps it’s time to think about taking a holiday abroad. The North Devon council described their tangle with the weather in mid November as ‘a Tropical Winds Storm’, but you’d not expect anything quite so miserable from your Barbados Holidays, so why stand for it all year round?
Even the St Lucia Holidays tourists have helped the locals get over the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas, by bring cruise ships and planes full of tourists gagging for local produce and the other fruits of the local economy. It seems rather sad to hear us complain of wet toes in Europe when the St. Lucians are so resilient, but the sunny attitude comes with such a fabulous land of white beaches, lush forests and the world’s only drive in volcano.
When you take a trip to the other side of the world, the Maldives are a shining example of tropical superiority, almost fanstastical even. But flooding in the Maldives? When you consider that this is the world’s lowest nation, perhaps the rainy isles don’t seem so bleak. . Have Maldives holidays while these beautiful islands are still there.
